  songs

The best part in HIMYM, the Songs!! Every song was sung with a story behind it. The famous robin sparkles’ “let’s go to the mall” played a significant role in finding robin’s true identity plus the originator of slap bet! “The bang bang bangity bang” song which was excessively addictive and sung by the group often! “Two beavers are better than one” shows the friendship between Robin and her childhood friend. “Nothing suits me like a suit” is a song dedicated to Barney. All the characters suit up in the song to support Barney’s suit! “You just got slapped” is a song when Barney gets a tight slap from Marshall.

the necklace

Robin wanted the necklace so bad because she thought that it would be a sign that she is doing right by marrying Barney. The necklace was buried by her when she was 12 years old. When she couldn’t find the necklace, she phoned everyone, but only Ted came for her rescue. He told her “Maybe we don’t need the Universe to tell us what we really want. Maybe we already know that deep down.” Then Robin put her hand in Ted’s and looked up at him. This moment hinted that at the end Robin and Ted were going to be together and that Barney is not good for her.

robin sparkles

The name itself is enough! The famous Canadian pop star which has made permanent place in our hearts is Robin Sparkles. When the gang can’t figure out why Robin is terrified of going to the mall, the investigation begins. Was she married in a Canadian mall (according to Marshall)? Or have a Canadian porn past (according to Barney)? But thanks to a MySpace video, we all now know the answer – Robin Scherbatsky was once a teen Canadian pop star who went by the name Robin Sparkles. She has made many music videos like “Sandcastles in the Sand” and her rock song “P.S. I Love You” but the main debut video was “Let’s Go To The Mall.”

The slap bet originally started between Marshall and Barney when Robin feared going to the mall. The bet initially started with 5 slaps but the extra 3 was in exchange for not having to wear the Ducky Tie! The slap that Marshall decided to give Barney on thanksgiving was named as slapsgiving! It was a continuous gift that Marshall gave Barney throughout the series. Fans anxiously awaited each slap delivery, as much as Barney’s cringe reaction with it.

4. Mystery of Barney’s job.

barney's job

The biggest mystery of all time!! BARNEY’S JOB! What Barney do for a living? From all the episodes all we could know that he was rich (damn rich). Whenever someone asks him what he does for living, he always used to answer, “please!” his job identity was kept secret till the last season. But the day before his wedding, he drank too much to answer honestly, that we all got the answer what Barney exactly do! His work is actually “P.L.E.A.S.E!” an acronym for Provide Legal Exculpation and Sign Everything, an illegal job. This job was given to him by Greg Fisher, the man who stole Shannon away from him in 1998, and pays an immense amount of money. Two months after his wedding, Barney took revenge on Greg by having him arrested by feds for fraud and other crimes he had committed in the past, thereby securing his position at GNB.

3. The playbook.

The_playbook

The Playbook offers creative advice and the ways Barney developed to win “The Ladies.” All the acts and plays Barney did to impress the ladies, which were in fact very effective, were written in the playbook. At the end of the series, Barney burned the playbook but before that he played his last act “The Robin”. Barney cautiously makes Ted promise not to tell anyone that he plans to propose to Patrice. When Ted meets up with Robin, he tells her anyway. Ted encourages her to go after Barney. When Robin heads to the roof of the building, she sees no sign of Patrice. Instead she finds a page from Barney’s Playbook, titled “The Robin.” It is revealed that Barney had a long plan to get back together with Robin, which started with proclaiming his love for Robin and intentionally getting shot down. Afterward, he went to Patrice for help and pretended to date her so that Robin would realize her feelings for him. When Barney arrives, Robin feels she can’t trust Barney because of how he manipulated her to get to this moment. However, he still proclaims his love for her and proposes; Robin accepts, and they kiss. At the night of his wedding, Barney meets 2 guys and tells them every little advice, notes down on napkins and give it to them as the playbook!

1. The Doppelgangers.

doppalgangers

The Five Doppelgangers are the five look-a likes of each member of the gang. They are, Lesbian Robin, Moustache Marshall, Stripper Lily, Mexican Wrestler Ted, and Fertility Doctor Barney. One ordinary day they came across a woman who looked exactly like Robin, and due to her appearance named the doppelganger “Lesbian Robin”. Another day, the group came across an advertisement on the side of a bus with a photo of a man who looked exactly like Marshall, and due to his noticeable moustache they named the doppelganger “Moustache Marshall”. the day when barney tried to cheer up Marshall, he and Marshall go to a strip club, and inside find a stripper who looks exactly like Lily, thus giving her the title “Stripper Lily”. Once when Barney, Lily and Marshall went to an awesome wrestling event and find that one of the Mexican wrestlers, looks exactly like Ted, they named Ted’s doppelganger as Mexican wrestler Ted. And finally Barney’s true doppelganger was found as Lily and Marshall’s fertility doctor, Dr. John Stangel (who was found after several false Barney look-a-likes as Barney used to disguise himself so that lily and Marshall can start trying to have a baby).
