Internet, a term introduced to us just a couple of years ago is whether a boon or a bane it’s tuff to decide!!! It is a whole new world of its own that people are very much addicted to now. Open to all age groups it serves it purpose well. Almost anything is available on the internet nowadays but not to forget it has its own dark side too. Talking of what negative impact it might leave on students let’s have a look below…

With its advancements and explorations, internet serves as a distraction for students too. Be it the social networking sites or any of the gaming ones, they seem to never the net go. Either they are busy chatting or just surfing the net simply wasting time. Spending too much time on the internet they get distracted from their studies which ends up in a loss for them. This adversely affects their academic performance.

Despite the useful things available on the net, there are such things too which could lead to moral corruption of the students. Everything is easily accessible over the net which leads to this situation. Students tend to visit such websites which are meant for the adults and this becomes a daily routine for them. They enjoy watching prohibited sites. Therefore their mental development exceeds their age.

8. HESITANT TOWARDS FACE TO FACE COMMUNICATION

The internet holds a plethora of social networking sites which are immensely used by the students. Chatting online with their friends makes them uncomfortable in making a face to face communication with people. They tend to hesitate or rather shy away from talking to anybody face to face. In fact many a times making a face to face conversation with their online friends too becomes difficult for them. They prefer only online chatting which somewhere separates them from the real world.

7. LACK OF CREATIVITY

Students are often given a loathsome of projects and presentations to make. Well, what happens nowadays is that they simply copy paste all the information available from the net into their notebooks. Not a single student tries doing it on his own. This plagiarism on their part leads to lack of creativity in the students. Due to this they hardly even understand whatever topic their project is on. They do not get a chance to explore anything on their own as information an almost anything is readily accessible. Things become easier for them in such a way that it hinders learning.

Excessive use of anything has its disadvantages. Too much use of the internet and the social networking sites pushes the children into a world of isolation where only internet is their friend. They spend hours and hours over the net ignoring their own families. Browsing the net is more important for them than spending time with their loved ones.

Insomnia is none other than a sleeping disorder that is known for its symptoms of unrest and the inability to sleep. Unfortunately, internet too could be a cause for this. Students that are too much addicted to the internet and therefore fall a prey to this disease. They are unable to sleep as they keep wasting time over the net overnight too. This can truly be harmful towards their health too.

4. PRIVACY DISRUPTED

Talking of the social networking, multiple things can be exchanged or rather uploaded over them. For example, students don’t realize and in their innocence they exchange private pictures, messages etc. through personal chats which in turn disrupts their privacy. Often their privacy is hindered and they get webbed. Many people are just sitting their to get your private stuff out of you to misuse it. so be careful!!!

3. PHYSICAL INACTIVITY

Physical inactivity is another result of the internet. Students who love surfing the net make it a routinely work for them. Getting too attached with the technologies, they sit with their laptops for hours and hours not making a movement. This makes them physically inactive. They don’t like going out and remain shut in their rooms for a prolonged time. In fact students being so young should be active at such an age rather than lazy.

Over attachment to any person or thing is obviously harmful. Addiction to the internet too is another thing that the students become prone to. Some of them get so badly attached to it that letting it go becomes tuff for them. They get addicted to the extreme level. Be it the social networking sites or the gambling ones they make excessive use of the net. Addiction leads to disruption of their mental development at such a young age.

Cyber bulling is the term added to explain bulling over the net. It is much easier than physical bulling. Students easily get trapped into it. The very much explorations of the social networking sites make the work of cyber bullies all the more easy to carry out. Students are most bullied over the net. The cyber bullies over expose and demoralize the victims. This is also leading to rise in suicidal attempts by students. They get harassed and face embarrassment but still they are not able to share such a drastic experience with anybody.
