With the memories, come the people. While few are going to stay with you forever, others are simply there for a phase. 1. The geek

Call him teacher’s pet, the nerd or simply a geek, he is the one who is always writing down each and every thing that the professor says and at the end of the semester, is the most sorted one. Not only that, he is someone who is always bugged for notes by his classmates and after a while simply stops responding to requests to lend his notes. He keeps himself away from all the distractions such as parties or even extra-curricular activities for that matter.

He is the one who tries too hard, work too hard to get the best scores in the class and most of the time, succeeds in his endeavours.

Nothing to do with class and everything to do with the latest clubs, the party goer is the next person on the list. He is your go to person to know about the latest and trending clubs and getting an entry into the most happening parties, simply because you have spotted his pictures on social media in some or the other party place.

He is the one organizing your informal parties and making sure that everyone has a good time. He knows how to have a great time and is the first one to enter the club and the last one to leave.

This is not an individual but a group of people. These are the people you will find always accompanying each other and never leaving each other’s side. They are extremely well versed with each other’s likes and dislikes and ward off any other person trying to cut through the group.

Typically found in a group of 4 or more, the clique can be easily spotted. People in this group are always enjoying their college life in the company of each other and are unlikely to socialise beyond a point with anyone external to the clique.

The easiest to spot are the backbenchers. They are the ones who run into the class to grab the last seats so that they can suit their fancy in the class. They are the ones who do pay attention in class but well, not always. They sit on the last benches so that they are not spotted by the professors and can sleep, eat or talk as and when they want.

Usually the center of all the distraction that happens in the class, backbenchers are the people who believe in enjoying classes instead of simply sitting through them.

Everytime this person walks in the corridor, everyone else is waving at him or saying hi. If you are walking with him, there are going to be multiple stops before you reach your destination. This is the category of the social butterflies in the college. Befriending many due to, either their talkative nature or accomplishments, the social butterfly has hundreds of followers on twitter and Instagram and is equally active on all other social media platforms.

He is always aware of what is happening in the college and no matter who you ask about him, that person will know something or the other about this social butterfly.

While you might come across a lot of acquaintances, there will only be one person that will stand by you through no matter and this is the person who will stay with you even after college ends. He is that person whom you give one look to and he completely gets what you are thinking. You are normally on the same page but even if you are not, you are comfortable with him to have a healthy discussion about it and then part ways on the topic without agreeing but appreciating each other’s point of view.

It doesn’t matter how different you are, what matters is how in-sync you are with each other.

He is the one who will actively take part in all college activities and is likely to be one of the office bearers. He is politician for he knows how to get work done. His only mantra is popular support, which if he gets, he reaches new heights with serving the students of the college.

The last type of person that you will most definitely find in college is the one who always argues in class. He might be someone who knows too much and keeps you, your classmates or even your professors on absolutely any minor mistake that is committed. Or he might be someone who just loves to express his opinions, he will either do it through questions to the professors or else actively taking part in any discussions that take place in the class.
